John Morison 1790-1852 St Clement's Church Rodel.

Post by Jessysgirl+3 » Tue Nov 04, 2014 12:46 am

Hi, can anyone please direct me to the correct family tree (genealogy) for John Morison (Dain Iain Ghobha) Jessy Macqueen (John Morison's grand daughter from his first wife) was John Macqueen (my grandfather's) mother. I know John Morison is buried at St Clements at Rodel. Hoping to find correct family connections.

Thank You.

I can help you with that Jessygirl. Iain Gobha was my great-great-grandfather's third cousin.

Jessygirl: Dain Iain Gotha was my great great grandfather. George Henderson published a book of his poems. Although all the poems are in Gaelic, there is an 80 page eulogy in English as an introduction to the book. That eulogy describes his ancestry back to the 1300's. When he died in about 1860, his widow (second wife) and three young sons immigrated to Kincardine, Canada. They later moved to Hancock, Michigan on the Keewanaw Peninsula. One of the sons, Roderick, was my great grandfather. Good luck with your research and I hope this was helpful. Mike Madigan
