Group Q Origins

So far, all Group Q Morrisons seem to descend from a James Morrison who settled in Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania, about 1730. The family then migrated to Rowan (Iredell) County, North Carolina. A separate DNA project has been established for this Group as well as a Yahoo discussion group. The group has tested positive for SNP DF-41 (See General DNA discussion.)

my family was in Lanarkshire about 1840 or 1800 .

the largest Morrison population area ..in census ..has anybody narrowed down ..where they began ??

We need to remember that Lanarkshire includes Glasgow. By the mid to late 1700's people were moving to Glasgow from all over due to jobs created by the Industrial Revolution. Here is a link:
