Group P Origins

Group P is a Scots-Irish family that left County Londonderry in the North of Ireland settled in Pennsylvania in the 1700's. Group P is Scottish in origin and likely originated in the Southwest of Scotland, where most of the families who relocated to Ireland were from, but further research is needed to determine the origin more precisely.

New to Forum. My brother's DNA was donated to the Morrison DNA project in 2012. We received one match. I have been very involved in for quite a few years. We are direct descendants of Alexander Morrison of the Isle of Lewis, Scotland (arrived Maryland 1781). We also have relatives from Londonderry with a surname of Allison who arrived in the United States in 1750, settled in Pennsylvania. Recent generations settled in Indiana.
