Morrison of S. Uist and Benbecula

Looking for other relatives who share this background. I can trace my great grandfather to Cape Breton, NS but cannot link him to any particular family. Would like to share information.

Thanks for your information.

Seeing that we share the same group, I thought it might be interesting to post some information which I noticed a long time ago.

As far as I am aware I have no ancestral connection with South Uist, but noticed years ago a picture in a book Folk Lore and Folksongs from South Uist by Margaret Fay Shaw.

This picture no 42 was entitled 'John Morrison using the Cas-Chrom'

Not remarable in itself except that John Morrison bears an almost photographic resemblance to my late grandfather Walter Morrison!

Are any examples of such things known among other groups.?

Its only fair to mention that the people in photo 6 (a) Ronald and Mor Morrison bear no likeness to any of my family as far as I can see.
