the largest Morrison population area ..in census ..has anybody narrowed down ..where they began ??

my cousins hubby was Morrissey of Rensselaer NY .

makes sense as he was not ..particularly Irish looking at first glance ..ie year to ..marry other NY'ers ..

my family was about 1840 james Morrison and married janet douglas (new monklands) about 1860's .

towns ..
old monklands, whifflet, airdrie ..slamanan ..1890 they moved to stirling had f-I-law john douglas (71) and ..

do these lanarkshire morrisons have their story ?? (ies)

our prud-/ ..praestat badge is about size of a quarter less than a 50 cent piece ..given by granda to ma ..and likely about 50 or more years old ..he happened across ..silver I'd say . I'd heard in descriptions "SARACENS" (Holy lands) and "MOORS" (wars with spain also during the Crusades) ..I think ...

okay 2nd try MORRISONS ARE ALL OVER SCOTLAND AND LIKELY UNRELATED . Lewis Morrisons are Viking were driven off the island by MacLeods about 1600 to the MacKay area maybe MacKenzies . when I was little ..I always saw the old green colors and the 3 headed badge ..but my granda was not ..into research .. his family was 1840 about monklands and moved across to stirling in coal towns Binniehill Whiflet Old Monklands .. see Scottish miners ..site David was a foreman and 3-4 sons worki...
