Viscount Dunrossil

Any fellow Morrison's aware of the Viscount? He was Governor-General of Australia.
His grandson is the third Viscount.

Re: Permission

The clan Sept e.g the hand and dagger plus Dun Eistein is anyone's business. The full crest is the clan chiefs arms.
I'm a Morrison and my mother's a Buchanan so I'll be having a mix of the Morrison and Buchanan crest as my next tattoo

Re: King Olaf the Black

Which genetic system would you suggest in terms of putting my DNA forward to figure my lineage?

Re: O'MUIRGHEASAIN

I've often wondered about various spellings of the name for example Morison and Morisson.
Perhaps misspelling which has just stuck?

King Olaf the Black

Greetings fellow Morrison, So I've been brought up with the story that we are descended from Olaf the Black and I've always wondered if this is true or one of these tales that has just manifested through the mists of time. Another example, my mother's maiden name is Buchanan and apparently Sir Alexa...

Re: Morrison Crest

If I have a spare couple of thousand pounds lying around I might get my own coat of arms! I'm not sure where my Morrisons are from historically. My paternal grandfather comes from the Gartcosh/Moodiesburn area which is North Glasgow. Further back than that I am unsure. I'll need to do some research ...

Re: Morrison Crest

Chris, Thanks for the information. This certainly answers my question. I'm glad I now know the genesis of the crest as I was planning on getting it as a tattoo. As this is the Chiefs' personal crest I may now reconsider this or perhaps have one mixed with this crest and elements of the Buchanan arms...

Morrison Crest

Greetings. My name is Andy Morrison, I live just outside Glasgow, Scotland. As a child I remember having a white ceramic tile emblazoned with what I was told by my father to be the Morrison crest. Said tile was then broken and lost. Years later when looking for the same crest online I could never fi...
